Phoenix Suns BULLET TIME NERF
In an electrifying collaboration with the Phoenix Suns, Profectum Media elevated the arena experience to unprecedented heights. Leveraging a bespoke, portable 48-camera volumetric rig integrated with cutting-edge Neural Radiance Field (NeRF) technology, our team captured high-resolution, multi-angle data to render photorealistic 3D visuals of the players in action. This pioneering use of bullet time NeRF technology in sports allowed fans to witness the Suns' signature moves in a stunning “frozen time” effect, all within the high-energy environment of an NBA arena.
During the Suns' media day, our technical team overcame significant challenges, including synchronizing dozens of cameras and optimizing lighting conditions to maintain consistency across all angles. By partnering with Luma AI, we were able to process authentic performances utilizing machine learning. The end result was not just a visual spectacle but a narrative-driven experience that brought fans closer to their heroes than ever before.
The arena intro, directed by David Sosna & Kody Kurth, premiered at the season opener and was featured in 21 sold-out home games, captivating a total live audience of 378,000+ people. Beyond the arena, the project extended its reach to over 15 million online viewers.
This project was the first of its kind to employ bullet time NeRF technology in a sports setting, creating a limitless realm of possibilities for fan engagement and sports broadcasting. It not only enhanced the game day atmosphere but also demonstrated how advanced technology could create a deeper connection between sports teams and their supporters.

DEAR JASON DOCUMENTARY
In 2019, we met Jason Hogan, an inmate wrongfully convicted of a crime he didn’t commit. His case, supported by the Kory Wise Innocence Project, brings to light a grave injustice within our criminal justice system, where an estimated 2% to 5% of people in prison are wrongfully convicted.
Directed by Kate Kurth in collaboration with Pathos Labs, we produced a documentary originally designed for the clemency board to advocate for Jason’s innocence. “Dear Jason” is the true story of Jason Hogan, an innocent man serving 77 years for a crime he did not commit, told through the written letters of those impacted by his false imprisonment and his undying quest for justice.
The film premiered at the Denver Film Festival (DFF) in 2021, and was subsequently screened at the National Film Festival for Talented Youth (NFFTY) and Horsetooth International Film Festival (HIFF) in 2022. It won Best Documentary Short and the Content Creator Award at HIFF in 2022.
Since it’s release, “Dear Jason" has raised significant awareness about wrongful convictions, contributing to the social pressure and helping Jason's case. Profectum Media is proud to have played a part in advocating for justice and highlighting the need for criminal justice reform.
Jason Hogan was exonerated and freed on May 9th, 2023.
